Symptoms of Eczema Herpeticum

Eczema may seem to be normal for everyone especially for young children. What is not normal is when eczema will develop into a new strain of herpes virus and cause too much trouble than you can imagine. Yes it is true that herpes virus can combine with the ones causing eczema. The new strain is called eczema herpeticum. But how would you know if you have this type of eczema? The following are the symptoms;

#1. Too much itchiness - eczema is itchy but tolerable. Most of the times you can even forget to scratch the part where eczema exists. However, when the herpes virus enters the body through the lesion caused by atopic eczema, itchiness can be intolerable 5 to 12 days after the entrance.

#2. Swelling of the area - once the virus is fully developed, the lesions will slowly become wounds and constant swelling starts to appear causing too much pain to the patient. It is because herpes has its own way of creating bigger, rounded wounds in the body and that's what will happen to the pre-existing lesions caused by eczema.

Apparently, eczema herpeticum is devastating and discomforting to the patient. More often, the pain it causes will be traumatic and that professional help should immediately be sought. It is a serious threat to your life if you leave it untreated.
