The ultraviolet rays trigger the progression of non-melanoma skin cancers. This is the reason why it is very important to wear sun protection every time you get exposed to sunlight. On the other hand, a prolonged exposure to the heat of the sun is highly discouraged. The clinical manifestation of skin cancer is more likely to show up in the next ten to thirty years of existence.
