The Progression of Spider Veins

There are several factors that contribute to the progression of spider veins. A pertinent research have manifested that the condition is elicited by certain factors that involve genetics, hormonal changes, pregnancy and activities that require prolonged standing or sitting. The condition is also associated with weight gain and some side effects of certain drugs.

Spider veins are oftentimes associated and mistakenly thought of as varicose veins. However, they are not the same. To name some of their distinctions, varicose veins appear to be much darker and bigger than spider veins. But both of them can be aching. The appearance of spider veins usually occurs during teenage or later years.

The occurrence of spider veins is not only exclusive to women. This denotes a fact that men also have such problem. However, spider veins in men may not be that perceptible compared with women because by nature, men have facial hairs on their legs, which make it imperceptible.

People with spider veins, who would want to obtain an appropriate treatment, are recommended to consult a doctor, preferably the ones who has training and experience in sclerotherapy. Doing so will help in obtaining the right remedy for the existing condition.
