Some Important Facts You Should Know before Having Microdermabrasion

The procedure of microdermabrasion is generally safe for everyone even for people with sensitive skin. It is because it does not involve any surgeries to be done. The very core of this procedure is to exfoliate the skin using specialized tools which are specifically made for the process. However, there are some important facts that you should know first before indulging yourself into the procedure;

#1. If you have undergone a laser surgery about 6 to 12 months, you should hinder yourself from microdermabrasion procedure as there will be serious complications on your skin. Usually, it will lead to severe or even permanent scarring of the skin.

#2. Microdermabrasion procedure should not be done if you have used Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) within 15 days. This may affect the capability of your skin to recover faster.

#3. If you are using acne treatment such as Accutane, you should not proceed with microdermabrasion procedure. Accutane usually lowers the secretion of essential oil in the sebaceous glands, thus, affecting the capability of skin to recover. If microdermabrasion is done while using the treatment, it will lead to permanent scarring of the skin.

#4. For pregnant women, it is advisable to wait until the baby is delivered before you engage into microdermabrasion because the skin is very sensitive whenever a woman is pregnant; there may be some complications if you proceed with the procedure.
