The Meaning Of Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation

Sometimes after surgery the skin can darken and this could happen with burns, cuts, and bruising. When this happens it is called Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation. Another thing that can cause Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation might be just from one pimple.

A permanent scar can take a very long time to show up on this kind of condition and might take weeks, months or either years depending on what kind of injury the person has had. It does not matter what kind of skin tone a person has because Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation can happen to any skin tone but if a person does have a lot of color to their skin they might be more sensitive to getting this kind of condition and it might trigger or put them at risk for it. People that have light brown skin, dark, or olive skin can still be affected with Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation regardless of what they do to try and prevent it from happening.

In some cases people try to use sunscreen to help make sure that it does not get very dark but it usually does not cause the discoloration to go away. The only way that the discoloration can disappear is by having either microdermabrasion, or using chemical peels.
