Hyper Pigmentation—What is it?

Hyper pigmentation is a condition that some people suffer from that triggers the melanocytes, which are over active skin cells causing the skin to have a dark spot or patch. This condition stimulates melaniain in the body in where these over active cells are located. Melaniain is what provides the skin color and this is why it can cause it to turn dark where the over active skin cells are located.
Hyper pigmentation is a condition that can be caused by other reason such as hormone imbalances, medical conditions or over exposure to the sun can cause this discoloration of the skin in these patches of over active skin cells. Exposure to the sun’s UV rays cause stimulation of the melanocytes, causing them to produce melanin, which causes dark spots on the skin.  A person that has this condition should not go out in the sun without the protection of a good sunscreen with a high enough SPF number to protect their skin.
