Possible Side Effects of Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion has been proven effective and safe to be accepted in the world of cosmetic science. However, there are possible effects which may arise right after the procedure is done. Some of them may be so discomforting and irritating while others may be just milder. Nevertheless, they are still the side effects of microdermabrasion. Here are some of the most common ones;

#1. Corneal Abrasion - microdermabrasion makes use of very fine crystals which can easily be carried to the eyes. Symptoms may include irritation of the eyes and other complications may follow thereafter. That is why you cannot afford not to wear safety goggles while doing the procedure. Most of the clinics which conduct microdermabrasion have these kinds of goggles; you just have to ask them about it for your own safety.

#2. Itchiness of the skin - you may be able to experience itchiness on the spots where microdermabrasion was done. You are not advised to touch those areas because they are just temporary and will soon disappear.

#3. Redness of the Skin - along with itchiness, you may be able to notice that your skin where microdermabrasion was done turns red. It may be normal within 24 hours since exfoliating may cause slight reaction on the skin. However, should this symptom persist; do not hesitate to contact your doctor immediately.
