What is Eczema Herpeticum? |
Having atopic eczema is never as safe as you think it is. The fact is, there are times when a strain of herpes virus enters the lesion caused by atopic eczema; it will then become the new strain of virus combined with that of eczema--eczema herpeticum. Although it is rare, it is being compensated by its severity because it is a serious threat to the life of the person who has it. It can affect people disregarding the age; thus, your children who also have eczema can be a victim of this more severe type of eczema. Symptoms may not appear immediately as the virus takes time to incubate inside the human body from 5 to 12 days after the person got it. But until then, the part where the virus first entered will even become more itchy and creating more watery blisters. The first stage of this disorder maybe too painful and would cause bleeding on that area. If it is left untreated, it will cause too serious injuries in the form of wounds and blisters. You are then advised to visit your doctor to have it checked and that you are given proper advices and professional help. Eczema herpeticum is not another kind of mild eczema; it is more serious than you think it is. |
