What are Dysplastic Nevi Moles?

The mole that is named dysplastic nevi is a mole that is larger than average size and that are irregularly shaped. These moles have uneven edges that are often a lighter color than the center of the mole, which is usually dark brown in color. These type of moles are often hereditary and are a mole that should be monitored by the physician for any signs of change.
The danger with these moles becoming cancerous is very real and they should be watched for any changes at home as well as by the physician or dermatologist. In some cases these moles can be removed from the body, but it can also be difficult since many people with dysplastic nevi moles can have as many as a hundred of them on the body.
The dysplastic nevi mole unlike other types of moles will not fade or disappear with age or lighten, like other types of moles can.
